Zedge Privacy Policy (Revised June 19, 2008) - Summary of Material Revisions
1st Introductory Paragraph
An acknowledgement has been added that you consent for information you provide being transferred to and processed in the United States. This provision is only of concern to users located outside of the United States.
Section 1
A clarification has been added that certain information about users is automatically collected when a user visits our website. This information includes browser type, version, host operating system and browser language, and IP address. It is common for websites to automatically collect this information, and although IP addresses are not typically identifiable to specific users, some jurisdictions consider IP addresses to be personally identifiable information.
Section 5
The policy now specifies that Zedge may share your information if Zedge believes that this is necessary to protect Zedge’s interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity or to prevent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
In addition, Zedge will make your personal information available to its US parent company IDT Internet Mobile Group for the purposes of group management, statistical analysis, product development and content moderation.
Third-party websites and advertisers, or Internet advertising sometimes will send advertisements that appear on the Zedge website directly to users browsers. These entities may automatically receive user IP addresses when this happens, and such entities may also use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons, and other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads, to personalize advertising content, to compile anonymous statistics and otherwise monitor the effectiveness of their campaigns. Zedge does not have access to or control over cookies or other features that these third parties may use, and the information practices of these third parties are not covered by this policy.
Section 10
The policy now provides that Zedge may transfer your information to a purchaser of Zedge, which would still be bound by terms of the Privacy Policy.
Section 11
Zedge may modify the Privacy Policy from time to time. Non-material changes will take affect immediately and material changes will take effect 30 days posting. Zedge may choose to notify you via email of material changes.
Section 12
Your use of Zedge, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to the Privacy Policy as well as the Zedge Terms of Service and all of its dispute resolution provisions including, limitation on damages, choice of law and forum selection.
